Jordan McKenzie
Jordan McKenzie is a performance artist who also works with drawing, sculpture and installation. A Senior Lecturer in BA Drawing at The University for The Arts in London (Camberwell), he has exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally including TATE Britain, London; Yorkshire Sculpture Park; The Courtauld Institute, London; Museu Serralves, Portugal; and DOLL Exhibition Space, Switzerland. Often investigating cultural identity and its relationship to ideas of the local, particularly in regard to class and Britishness, his work also examines queer politics and body based practices. His series of works called Minimal Interventions have seen McKenzie disco dancing on a Carl Andre sculpture in Tate Modern (Andre Dance 2008), rubbing himself against a Richard Serra sculpture (Serra Frottage, 2008) and chewing up a series of Gonzalez-Torres poster works (Torres Chew, 2011).
