Kate Mahony TM
Recently graduated from Goldsmiths, performance artist Kate Mahony’s fear of having nothing to say, fuels her ever increasing paranoia. Working in collaboration with Rachel Dowle, ‘Kate Mahony TM’ seeks to question and probe the role of the artist and the distinction between studio-based or (tent) work in conjunction with a time based practice. Rachel performs the role of the technician -the documenter that is the ever-present (yet overlooked), live source of the performance; the true performer always waiting to capture truthfully Mahony’s ephemeral practice. Rachel Dowle (RD: Research and Development) is the manager and creator of Kate Mahony’s online digital archive ‘Kate Mahony TM’, altering Mahony’s once ephemeral works into the realm of iconic performance commodity.
