Lina Hakim
Born in Beirut in 1979, Lina holds a BA in Graphic Design from the American University of Beirut, an MA in Book Arts from Camberwell College of Arts, and an MRes in Humanities and Cultural Studies from the London Consortium.
Alongside her art practice, Lina has worked as a designer, a graphic design and book arts instructor, and is now a student again (PhD candidate at the London Consortium).
In parallel to her research concern with mechanical playthings, Lina’s recent artwork evolves around attempts at building improbably large (and somewhat a bit sad) toys. Inevitably, there’s also always a bit of Beirut in almost anything she does or thinks.
