The beguiling and unmistakable strains of Mary Hampton have been heard twice at Supernormal before, in 2010 and 2012, and each time her delicately intense songwriting and haunting voice have resonated in potent style to jaws agape aplenty. Bridging folk tradition with a questing nature and an inventive artistry, she stands apart from categorisation and touches on strange vibrations unheard elsewhere. With Mary ppearing also this year with Dark Northumbrian, we jumped at the chance to have her weave her own particular aural tapestry once more.
