Michael Chapman
The sort of coup d’état that a former PM’s son would admire, we’re chuffed to little mint balls that Michael Chapman’s agreed to play for us. Something of an elder statesman of English music (but no less vital for it), Chapman doesn’t really need an introduction. If you’re that side of too young then he’s the sort of blues/ folk player that makes you wonder how he makes do with just the ten fingers, but never showy or over-earnest like an anxious guitar teacher. None of the festival is to-be-missed but this should sit in a special mental place, and woe-betide anyone playing at the same time as him.
