Sly & The Family Drone
One of the highlights of 2012’s Supernormal was Sly And The Family Drone’s bewildering and ceremonial lunchtime set, at which a variety of musicians in various states of disrepair, arranged on the grass nowhere near a stage, conspired to lure the assembled into a world where noise, free improv and out-rock converged like mud-wrestlers in a grisly yet relentlessly compelling subterranean spectacle. They’ve set themselves a hefty precedent to match here for their 2014 return, but we suspect they won’t have any bother.
