Arising from the murkiest depths of London’s late-80s noiserock hinterlands, Terminal Cheesecake dealt out a series of increasingly visionary records that mapped out a path between the grimiest of mildew-ridden basements and the most sparkling realms of the avant-garde unknown. Equally adept in dealing with chaotic drug-noise, dubbed-out abstraction and full-throttle psych-rock wig-out, Cheesecake were principally best when they seemed to be doing all three things at once, yet the disorientation and deliverance they dealt out damaged British underground music forever.
