Arriving on site

This year there will be a one way system for traffic coming/going from Supernormal. Please familiarise yourself with this map, as the route to the festival site is different than it has been in past years.

Travelling by public transport

The nearest railway station to Braziers Park is Goring, though volunteers and guests travelling by train are advised to go to Reading railway station and then catch the X39/X40 bus to Braziers Park, as these buses run from just outside the station.

Bus times for X39 / X40 between Reading & Oxford: http://www.thames-travel.co.uk/busx39x40/TT_%20X39_X40_May13_WEB.pdf

From Reading

To catch a bus from Reading railway station, leave the station at the exit nearest the WHSmith shop, walk straight on along the outside of the station wall, passing The Three Guineas pub on the right, and make your way to bus stop EB. The X39 takes approximately 25 minutes. The X40 turns off for a loop of Woodcote before rejoining the X39 route, so takes 5-10 minutes longer.

The bus drivers are very friendly and helpful – if you ask them to, they will try to let you know when they are approaching Braziers’ stop. If you’re on the X39, you will see a sign for Woodcote approximately 3 minutes before reaching the Braziers stop. The X40 will take this turn and spend 5-10 minutes travelling to Woodcote and back, so when you reach the main road again and turn left, you’ll be 3 minutes from the Braziers stop.

Once the bus has dropped you off, you’ll need to cross the main road and walk along the country lane immediately opposite the bus stop. This will lead you directly to Braziers’ main entrance.

As these buses travel between Reading and Oxford you can do the same from Oxford, but the bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the railway station.

From Oxford

To catch a bus from Oxford, make your way to bus stop H5 on St Aldates to catch the X39 or X40. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes on either bus, passing through Wallingford approximately 6 minutes before reaching Braziers’ stop. You may be asked to change buses in Wallingford, as the terminal is nearby so drivers often swap vehicles. Once the bus has left Wallingford centre, it will pass two large roundabouts and turn right onto a main road, travelling straight for a few more minutes. You’ll see large black and gold gates on your left, followed by a small wooden hut – this is the stop immediately before Braziers, which is approximately 30 seconds later. If you’re unsure, ask the driver, they are always more than willing to help!

After getting off the bus, follow the lane on the same side of the road (signposted Braziers Park) and it will lead you directly to the main entrance of Braziers.
