Final Acts revealed for SN2014

Once again, August is breathing down our neck. With less than 6 weeks until Braziers Park opens its gates, we have a few more treats to reveal.

A major project for Supernormal 2014 will be a series of commissioned artist produced billboards. We are re- purposing the billboard’s objective, shifting its location from the urban to the rural environment and transforming its context as an antithesis to it’s commercial nature. The billboards will assume the form of a temporary outdoor gallery at Braziers Park becoming a vehicle for visual, thoughtful and theoretical communication. Presenting billboards at SN14 will be:

Samuel Hasler | Andy Holden | S Mark Gubb | Mathew Sawyer | Danny Rolph

Vanessa Jackson | Jordan McKenzie | Rebecca Lennon | John Tiney | Stephanie Moran

For those that want to get their hands dirty, we’ve got a host of artist led workshops to keep you busy. Get involved in collaborative sampling and remixing with Animal Magic Tricks, join a toy orchestra, try your hand at cyanotype printing and more.

On the music front we have one last dose of heavy courtesy of the bowel loosening doom of Khunnt, and octo-limbed rock-and-rollers JOHN. At the other end of the spectrum it’s a pleasure to welcome King of Cats‘ helium wonk-pop and art-rock weirdos Ravioli Me Away. Finally, Field Sports return to Supernormal with a brand new artistic endeavour, exploring the relationship between a musician and their surroundings.

Last but not least, we’ve got a full programme of DJs in the bar, featuring turns by a few fave acts and publications.

All of that plus more besides. Full details of everything on this year’s programme can be found on the programme page (click “latest confirmations” to being the new acts to the top).

One final note before we sign off: tickets are selling very well this year. We’re on track to sell out so don’t leave it until the last minute! We’re very unlikely to have tickets on the door as we have in past years.

See you all very soon!
